Christmas lodgement dates for most Australian states - 2025
Australia Post are recommending lodgement in metro locations by the following dates for delivery by Christmas*:
Parcel Post: Monday 22 December for same state deliveries and Friday 19 December for interstate deliveries**
Express Post: Tuesday 23 December
* Excludes items sent to and from Perth, Darwin and Hobart. To be delivered by Christmas, items sent to or from these locations with Parcel Post and Express Post need to be lodged by 12 December and 22 December, respectively.
** For all items collected by one of our trucks or vans and taken directly to our processing facility. For Parcel Post items lodged over the counter, please lodge by 2:30pm.
Please allow additional time for items being sent outside a metro area or being lodged over the counter. For more detailed state lane breakdowns (including Perth, Darwin and Hobart) please visit the Australia Post website.
