Shelf Life of Handcrafted Cold Process Soaps

Our cold process soaps have a shelf life. We recommend that you use your soap within 12 months of purchase.

The storage of soaps can affect your soap's shelf life. For example, storing soaps in humid (excessive moisture) and hot places will not help the oils in the soap or retain the scent.

Some scents may last a very long time but generally the pure essential oil scents may start to fade after six months. Sometimes if the scent has faded, once you wet the soap, the scent does come out again.

Mass produced or commercial soaps often include chemicals to harden the soap, make the soap produce more bubbles, enhance the fragrance used, and preserve the soap for a longer shelf life. Oliv & Koko soaps do not use chemicals or preservatives for any of the above.

Oliv & Koko uses fresh, quality natural oils and butters to make their soaps.

Oliv & Koko soaps are best used within 12 months (1 year) of purchase.
